I know I promised to get started on the posts about this year's shearing and fiber gathering, but I am still editing the photos on that process. It won't be long.
Today combines one of my favorite calendar days, Earth Day, with one of the most significant days on the Christian Calendar. Good Friday shouldn't have to share the spotlight with anything. I mean really, how can you possibly compare a day where our Savior gave Everything for us with a made up secular recognition of Earth. I can see how we should be grateful that God created Earth and everything in it. I can see how we should celebrate that all these years later, we still have a sustaining planet to "house" us. But, really, Earth Day compares with Groundhog Day. Not really significant in the scheme of things. Nothing would change if we didn't recognize the Earth today or keep a watch over Puxatawney Phil peeping his groundhog head out of a hole on February 2. But if we fail to remember the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for us, everything would change. Without our Savior, we have no real purpose. Thank you Jesus for sacrificing all so that we can live for you here on Earth.
And another thing about April 22. This is going on in my yard
and this is what I am wearing on my feet |
And I am wearing suede boots on my feet because it is like 40 degrees! While I am happy that I got one more chance to wear my favorite boots, ( I was missing them already!) , it just seems wrong to wear them on April 22. I just like things to make sense!
