Due to some health concerns in my parents, I have been spending a bit of time back in my hometown. I haven't lived in very many places in my life. The first 18 years I lived in Haddonfield, NJ. The rest of the time has been spent in different cities in Maryland, mostly in one place there. Its safe to say I am not big on moving. But recently, I had an amazing find, back in my hometown. Driving back from one of Mom's appointments I spotted a unexpected sight. There, on a side street off the main highway, was a WOOL STORE! Be still my heart. I could hardly wait to ditch mom, I mean get her safely settled in at home, so I could go check out this mecca. I was able to get back out before long, even if only for a short time, and explore the store called WOOLPLAY. Cute name. Wonderful inside as out. Beyond the unassuming door was a creatively displayed store full of beautiful natural wool fibers. Skein after skein of soft hand dyed yarn. Some of the names were familiar and some were new to me.
I loved the arrangement in the irregular shaped room. Upstairs, more surprises awaited including a group of ladies working on projects, and a SALE AREA! Horray, now I could take home a souvenier of my fun outing. Unfortunately, I had to get going. But I will be back! One side note to the finding of the yarn store was that I noticed there were lots of new stores in town. When did my little hometown develop such a personality! Everywhere I looked, another shop beckoned me. Alas, I would have to explore another day. But I did manage to get a few more photographs in before heading back to Mom.
Sorry Marlee. I will try to stop in next time I am in town. I think its funny that both of us grew up to own gift stores!
If I had a baby or grandbaby I would be shopping here. Decadent beauties for babies.
